Whanganui Girls’ College provides high quality education in a safe, respectful learning environment.

Founded in 1891 we continue to provide education in a girls only environment. Whanganui Girls’ College has excellent schooling facilities and spacious grounds. The recently refurbished facilities include a Performing Arts Centre, gymnasium and a technology facility with state of the art equipment.

Students can take advantage of a wide range of learning opportunities designed to extend their horizons in a broad range of subjects before senior level specialisation.

Extra-curricular programmes

The school owns a four-hectare outdoor education facility in the central North Island, with activities including tramping, caving, climbing, rafting and a rope course. The school offers a range of involvement in cultural activities including Maori and Pacific Island cultural groups, school productions, numerous music performance groups, debating, chess, drama, tramping club, Tae Kwon Do and public speaking.
