Freyberg High School embraces diversity and has established a reputation of providing outstanding pastoral care for International Students.
The school offers a very wide range of subjects and students from Europe often choose subjects that are not available in their schools back home. These subjects include Photography, Dance, Recreational Studies, and Technology.
Freyberg High School can cater for all levels of students (from age 13 through to 18). Enrolments are accepted throughout the year and there are no English language entry requirements for students from Europe.
Homestays are carefully selected and closely monitored by our Homestay Manager. Pastoral care is available 24/7 to assist with any problems.
Freyberg High School offers international students a large variety of outdoor education opportunities. There are many school trips offered throughout the year, such as horse riding, mountain climbing, rock climbing, tramps, Hobbiton trips, ski trips, beach trips, plus many more. There is a full time Outdoor Education instructor at Freyberg who organises and takes students out and around New Zealand.
As well as these trips, international students can also participate in a large range of sporting and cultural activities. There are over 20 sporting codes offered by the school. Many of our international students also gain entry to our Sports Academy where they receive specialist training. We also have many music, dance and drama groups.
