Wellington East Girls’ College has a wide range of modern facilities including well-equipped classrooms, music and drama suites, computer, technology, design, art and photography suites, science laboratories, a well-equipped library, and excellent sports facilities, comprising a swimming pool and sports centre.

Academic excellence

With a roll of 1000 students, the college offers a variety of subjects with quality programmes in Languages, Mathematics and Sciences, Art and Design, Social Sciences, Home Sciences, Information Technology and Sport and Outdoor Education.

Our modern approach to teaching and learning is led by highly skilled and enthusiastic teachers who provide excellent academic results.

Music is a specialty and students can join choirs, the orchestra, bands and chamber music groups.  Our ‘Cantala’ choir placed first in the Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival 2012 in Vienna.

Extra-curricular activities

Becoming involved in sport and some of the many cultural activities within the school is an important part of a student’s timetable.  A huge range of sports are supported with up-to-date facilities and coaching.  Cultural groups often perform outside school and enjoy much success when competing.

English language

Students are offered additional English language classes and continuing language support if required.  Small class sizes provide efficient learning models.

Accommodation and welfare

Accommodation is arranged in carefully selected homestays. The Homestay Administrator ensures that the student’s welfare needs are met so that she can live and study successfully in a supportive, secure and friendly environment.  The Dean of International Students and the Homestay Administrator keep in constant touch with each student and provide a very high level of care.
