About ISENZ Trips
The traditional Maori value of Manaakitanga is of vital importance to all companies in the hospitality and tourism industry. For ISENZ, excellent hospitality and customer service results in a high level of satisfaction and encourages students to return for future trips, and to recommend ISENZ Trips to their friends, organisations and schools.
Many companies in the hospitality and tourism industry offer similar tours to ISENZ, and it is often the quality of the hospitality, or Manaakitanga, which distinguishes one company from another.
In the interest of providing our customers with the best possible experience while on our trips, ISENZ expects our employees to:
- Understand the importance of Manaakitanga (showing respect, hospitality, generosity and care for visitors) to ISENZ, and apply to their job roles and responsibilities
- Understand the importance of Kaitiakitanga (showing respect, preservation and care for the environment) to ISENZ, and apply to their job roles and responsibilities.
- Ensure that the health, safety and overall well-being of our students is of utmost importance
- Respond to and act on requests/complaints/issues promptly and satisfactorily
- Engage with and build rapport with students, individually and within group situations
- Be sensitive to, and respectful of, different cultural practices and differences among students, and cater to them accordingly
- Be aware of any language barriers amongst students, giving special attention where needed (eg. making sure instructions are clear and understood)
- Cater to any special needs and requirements of our students (dietary, medical)
- Provide a supportive group environment where students are encouraged to participate in activities, interact with each other, and are made to feel welcomed within the wider group
- Be approachable, friendly, helpful and readily available to students and other ISENZ employees when on duty
- Ensure that the good reputation and image of ISENZ is maintained at all times.
