Quality and Safety Standards
ISENZ Trip Employees are briefed in and guided by extensive health and safety procedures and systems in order to ensure the optimal safety of our students while on tour.
We regularly review our procedures and are on the continual lookout for opportunities to improve the quality of the experiences we offer.
These include:
- Regular review of our Health and Safety documentation, including emergency procedures, risk assessment management, internally and by Qualmark.
- Up-to-date first aid training for our Trip Leaders
- Analysis of student feedback via online anonymous surveys (Survey Monkey), resulting in actions agreed on by management in post-trip reviews
- Regular review of employee Job Role and Safety Responsibilities
- Setting clear expectations for our students in regards to behaviour, rules and consequences, right at the start of the trip
- Pre-trip and post-trip briefings between management and trip employees, and regular nightly meetings and de-briefings throughout the trip
- A commitment to using sustainability practices within the business wherever possible, and promoting their use to employees and students
Qualmark Accredited
ISENZ Trips are endorsed by Qualmark (New Zealand tourism’s official quality assurance organisation) meaning that our health and safety procedures and systems comply to standards, and are independently assessed each year in order to retain the accreditation. Qualmark provides a trusted guide to quality travel experiences in New Zealand, and most of our partner agents and affiliated high schools insist on a Qualmark accreditation before they will allow their students to join an organised tour.
What does Qualmark mean for ISENZ?
Qualmark provides evidence that ISENZ has been independently validated as a quality tourism business. It provides instant recognition and assurance for customers that we will deliver a quality experience.
Our Providers
Where possible ISENZ has chosen to use providers (transport, accommodation and activity providers) that also carry the Qualmark accreditation. Our preferred providers hold a Qualmark accreditation and/or another recognised accreditation that requires an independent safety audit and regular review of their safety procedures and systems (eg. AdventureMark, Telarc, OurdoorsMark, Maritime NZ, Adventure Activities Regulations, NZPIA New Zealand Parachute Industry Association, Top 10 Holiday Parks)
