Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology is a Government Institute with four campus’s located throughout the Nelson, Tasman, and Marlborough regions.

NMIT has four campus’s located throughout the Nelson, Tasman, and Marlborough regions. Each of our campuses offer programmes designed to complement the business and industry demands of the area.

International student support

The International Pastoral Support team assists students with non-academic matters/pastoral care, accommodation enquiries and airport pickups.

The Learning Support team advises students with their learning. The team offers one-to-one training to help students become independent effective learners.

The Information and Enrolments Centre provides centralised processing of applications, enrolments, re-enrolments, withdrawals and transfers. The team can also assist with visa applications and medical or travel insurance.

SANITI – NMIT’s Student Association is a student elected, independent group of student representatives who provide advocacy and support, representation and regular events for students. SANITI also assist students who are looking for work.

Accommodation

We offer two types of homestays – Full Board homestays and Independent Homestays.

Our Full Board Homestay package includes:
• Your own room within the main building.
• The room will include a bed, desk, chair, lamp and storage drawers.
• An electric blanket for the bed may also be provided in colder seasons.
• A heater must be provided.
• Key to the home.

Meals
• Monday to Friday: Breakfast and dinner.
• Saturday and Sunday, public holidays and NMIT term holidays: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Wireless internet
• A minimum of 40GB of WIFI per student.

Independent Homestay includes your own room, heating, electricity, bedding and internet. No food is provided.
